Meet Your Trainer...
Like most dog trainers, I am a lifelong pet owner and pet lover, but it wasn't until 2007 when I began rescuing and fostering dogs that I became obsessed with learning everything I could about how to reach the dogs, rehabilitate them, understand how they think, and train them in basic behaviors to make them more adoptable. I read everything I could get my hands on and studied every protocol (Cesar Millan, Sit Means Sit, Aussie Way, etc.), but each of these methods uses some degree of punishment, force, or intimidation. I knew that this was not what these frightened little dogs (or any dog for that matter) needed. Then I read Reaching the Animal Mind by Karen Pryor and I knew I had found what I was looking for: an effective and positive method of training based on proven scientific principles. I immediately began applying these methods for everything from extreme shyness to fear-aggression and, since 2007, our 2-person rescue has successfully re-homed nearly 400 shelter dogs.
I am a Certified Training Partner, having graduated "With Distinction" from the highly-regarded Karen Pryor Academy for Animal Training & Behavior. I am certified in Pet First-Aid and CPR. I am also a member of the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants, The Pet Professional Guild, the Association of Pet Dog Trainers, and an Instructor for APDT's C.L.A.S.S. (Canine Life and Social Skills) Program.

In addition to the Karen Pryor techniques, I advocate and use the training techniques of Victoria Stilwell, so if you watch her television show ("It's Me or The Dog"), you know what you will be getting when you work with me. After your free initial consultation, I will customize a program that will work for you, your dog, and your lifestyle. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to email or call me. Thanks for stopping by, and I hope to hear from you soon!
